Claude Code for Marketers: 6 Jobs to Hand It
Claude Code for marketers moves ad copy, landing pages, content calendars and search out of scattered chat windows and into one folder that knows your brand. Claude Code is Anthropic's AI agent, and this guide covers the six marketing jobs I hand to it and the setup behind them.
Claude Code for marketers is an AI agent that works inside a folder of your marketing files: brand voice, offers, customer reviews and past posts. You ask in plain English, and it writes posts, ad scripts, landing pages and emails into that folder in your brand's voice.
The difference from a chat window is the folder, so start there.
Why a folder beats a chat window for marketing
Every marketer has done this: paste the brand guidelines into a chat, paste the offer, paste three example posts, get a decent draft, then do it all again tomorrow because the chat forgot.
Claude Code reads the folder instead. Your brand voice, your offer, your reviews and your best past posts sit there as files, and it reads them before every job. Results come back as files too, saved where you told it, so a week of content is a folder you can open, edit and hand to a client.
It also runs on your computer, next to the rest of your work. It can read a CSV export from your ad account, a transcript from a sales call or a PDF of last quarter's report, because those are just more files in the folder.
Set up your marketing folder
Make one folder per brand you market. Inside it, five files carry most of the weight:
- voice.md: how the brand writes, words it uses and never uses, punctuation rules, and three to five real examples.
- offer.md: what you sell, the prices, what is included and what is not.
- ideal-customer.md: who buys, what they search for and what makes someone a bad fit.
- proof.md: results and testimonials you have permission to quote. Nothing else gets quoted.
- voice-of-customer.md: exact phrases customers use about their problem, pulled from reviews and sales calls.
Add one instruction to CLAUDE.md: if a fact is missing, write [CONFIRM: ...] instead of guessing. Marketing copy with an invented statistic is a liability, and this one line prevents it.

1. One idea into four pieces of content
Give it one real idea: something you told a customer, a question you get every week, a mistake you keep seeing. Ask for a reel script laid out as what's on screen and what you say, a 7-slide carousel, a LinkedIn post and an X post. Two or three ideas cover a week. I go deeper on this in Claude Code for content creation.
2. Ad angles from your real reviews
Paste or save your reviews and ask for ad angles built from them: the problem in the customer's words, the result they got, the objection they had before buying. Then ask for hooks and scripts for each angle, grouped into a few creative families that look different from each other, plus a simple test plan. Each week, give it the results and ask which ads to kill, keep or scale.
Read voice-of-customer.md and proof.md. Write 4 ad angles from these
reviews. For each angle: 3 hooks, one 30-second script and one static ad
idea. Only quote results that appear in proof.md.3. Landing pages and simple funnels
Claude Code builds working web pages, not only copy. Ask for a quiz or calculator landing page for one offer, a thank-you page and four follow-up emails. It saves an HTML file you can open in your browser, check on your phone and publish on a free host.
4. Comment-to-DM flows
For a post you want to turn into leads, ask for a freebie idea that fits the post, a unique keyword people comment to get it, and a three-message DM flow that delivers the freebie and asks for an email. Keep it inside the platform's rules: people opt in by commenting, and the automation only replies to them.
5. Local and AI search
For a local business, ask it to review the Google Business Profile against a checklist, draft a reply to every review and write one service or cost page a month. Then have it keep a log of what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude say when someone asks about your category in your city. Run the same questions every month so you can see what changed.

6. Customer language into hooks
The best hook is usually something a customer already said out loud. After a sales call or a batch of reviews, ask Claude Code to pull out the exact phrases people use for their problem and add them to voice-of-customer.md. Every content, ad and email job after that reads the file, so your copy starts using your market's words instead of yours.
What Claude Code should never do on its own
Claude Code can connect to other tools, so set the rules before you connect anything:
- It drafts, you publish. It never posts, sends, launches an ad or spends money. You review every piece and switch it on yourself.
- No invented numbers. Every statistic and result comes from
proof.mdor from you. - No fake urgency or income claims. Neutral copy reads as more credible to readers and to AI answer engines.
- No competitor bashing. It never names or runs down a competitor unless you are writing a deliberate comparison page.
- Connect read-only first. When you do connect Gmail, Drive or a CRM, start with read access and widen it only once a job has run cleanly for weeks.
Claude Code vs Claude chat for marketing work
| Claude chat | Claude Code | |
|---|---|---|
| Remembers your brand | Only inside one chat or project | Reads your brand folder every time |
| Output | Text you copy out | Files saved in your folder |
| Builds pages | Shows a preview | Saves a working HTML page |
| Reads exports and transcripts | Upload one at a time | Reads anything in the folder |
| Best for | Quick one-off drafts | Repeatable weekly marketing work |
Marketing is only one part of the list: the jobs for sales, operations and building are in Claude Code use cases for business. Plenty of marketing work needs no folder at all. Claude Cowork for business owners covers the tasks the Claude app can take on by itself, and the same approach for other roles is in Claude for real estate agents and Claude for executive assistants.
Claude Code for marketers: FAQ
Is Claude Code free for marketers?
Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan or API credits; the free Claude plan does not include it. The prompts in this guide also work in the free Claude chat app, without the folder and saved files.
Can Claude Code post to social media for me?
Claude Code can connect to other tools, but I keep it to drafting and leave publishing to a person. A human check before anything reaches a customer catches the one wrong claim that would cost more than the time saved.
Do I need to know how to code?
You do not need to code. You type requests in plain English, and the Claude desktop app runs Claude Code without a terminal.
