All right what's going on everybody Josh pocock here founder and CEO of executive stride in today's video we're going to be looking at a tool called Cascade which allows you to build a second brain for your team let's get right into it [Music] all right so here is the Cascade website it's actually a really nice looking website here you can see you can get Cascade on pretty much any device or a browser that you wish and um yeah I really like

The user interface they have a dynamic website brainstorm ideas manage projects work together plan organize and execute your projects so the UI and the user interface and experience at least on the website is uh very nice um we can see here plan and sync your calendars manage team tasks share tasks online trusted by world the world's most Innovative teams okay some testimonials apparently here get work done faster and smarter workflows to change the project workflows dynamically with views collaboration workspaces oh

Calm oh this is good I didn't even notice the comments so I'm gonna have to check that out comments timer so track time spent on tasks with countdown timers nice interesting I didn't even know about that due dates chat and messaging video chat really cool uh templates version history Cloud integration so you can connect directly to Google Drive Dropbox and bad stuff calendar integration slash command team permissions Global search nested lists smart document uh tags roadmap filters and there's some FAQs

There um it looks like there is a lot with this tool um I actually haven't even um fully analyzed everything and I really like their I really do like their website and uh foreign guide about SWAT uh and yeah they have some a good blog it looks like Swan analysis um I'll probably review that later Community form okay nice they have a road map yeah honestly guys this tool right here is pretty pretty um I don't know how long it's been

Around but it's pretty developed it looks like Doc like editing like notion is in the request so in from my first glance at it it seems to be sort of like a notion um similar to notion except more for and a post from just like notion is you can do a lot with it and it's really good for notes and Knowledge Management and you can even do task management and projects in it as well you do have to set that up

And build it a certain way but the task Aid kind of gives me the feel of like a to-do list like project management um like in one where it's you know task management um something like todoist or tick tick um combined with you know a little bit more project management so kind of like notion but just more structured upon uh projects and tasks and everything like that um you know I could be wrong but that's kind of what it gives me

The feel of from what I see and guys I'm making this as I'm making this video oh I didn't even go over the pricing let me go over the pricing in just a second but um Cascade currently as I'm making this video is on appsumo um they are ending in 20 hours guys so I actually just picked this up you can see here it's an alternative to notion slack and Trello um it has some cool features like the video calling and

All this stuff so I'm excited to use it um and get it set up it'll probably take me a little bit to actually get all kind of set up in there I do use notion I do use like a lot of other stuff so I'm kind of testing this out it looked interesting um right now on notion or on appsumo there's three cures tier one two and three and you could really even go like you couldn't go wrong even with tier

One for 69 bucks you get two workspaces and unlimited everything so you get unlimited storage limits unlimited tasks and projects and unlimited workspace members which is really cool because with a lot of stuff pretty much any like task management or project management tool usually they're going to charge you for workspace members per workspace member so your bill depending on how many team members you have can get quite large we run um uh pretty large like we have a decently medium-sized team

But uh we have a few different companies a few under us under executive stride so we have for example stride um you know stride staff where we help Place virtual assistants and remote workers and our clients companies and as well as in our company we've been working with them uh the Philippines for a long time and you know stuff like that so virtual assistants so we can get very large like a lot of people a lot of team members um from

There and that bill on certain you know certain tools per user can accumulate to be quite large say if it's fives 10 to 20 bucks per team member depending on the tool um you know it could be a few hundred to potentially even like thousands of dollars a month right so that's really cool that they have unlimited members so that's what I like even tier one you're getting a good bang for your buck you can just only create two workspaces which

Actually if you think about it like a workspace could just be a company so if you just want one or two companies or workspaces um I mean maybe you won't actually I don't know I actually I'm not 100 I'm pretty much maybe a workspace wouldn't be just a company I don't know if that would be a company yeah I'm pretty sure it would be a company we'll we'll double check in a second that's pretty I'm pretty sure that's what it is

Yeah so you really can't go wrong with tier one and then tier two is the same thing you're just getting 10 workspaces and then tier three which is what I got um you get unlimited everything unlimited workspace is unlimited everything I'm like hey you can't go wrong with that so tier one is 69 bucks tier two is 139 and tier three is 279. now if you're watching this and you know I'm sorry I couldn't make this video sooner guys I mean

I literally just got this tool and I thought that since it's the deal's ending soon I'm gonna share this with you and even if you're you miss out on this deal that's ending in 20 hours right now it's actually uh 5 a.m in the morning um so yeah I this may be posted in a couple hours from now so it'll probably be like Maybe you know 16 17 15 hours when you're seeing this left so if you this is a tool

For teams looking to create single or sources of Truth for their workflows and you get everything in the free plus version history unlimited storage large file uploads Advanced permissions and two-way calendar Integrations so and then organization this is for larger teams that need to scale with confidence it's twenty dollars per seat per month you need request a demo and you get flexible payment options customer contract and saml SSO and scim so pretty much with appsumo deal we're on this plan right

Here but we're just playing one time and you can go ahead and compare the features here but uh you know more in depth but anyways so let's actually get right into the tool guys I literally just got it um so I kind of did a little bit of setup but really not too much so as I'm going through this video you're kind of getting a first glance as to you know my opinion on this tool what I'm seeing what I'm liking

What I'm not liking whatever so um over here we have recents so this would be you can filter by recents I think tasks by anyone owned by me not owned by me members of spaces not members of spaces okay we have my tasks so I don't have any tasks right now um I could go up here click here or click control K to do a quick ad and type anything Control Plus to enter to plus enter to add Okay so let's

Do hey this is a test and the folder so we're choosing the workspace right here the folder I guess we only have home right now um projects so I have one project and block guess we could choose this location you can choose top or bottom and then in due date you could choose so we could do like there December 16th let's go ahead and click add attitude project view task okay so it opened in a new thing okay so now we

Are seeing the project so this is a default um project or whatever that got added when you create your account so this is getting started with Cascade so check the text box here to complete the task drag the button left of the checkbox to reorder the task okay so we can reorder this so okay fold and unfolded task to simplify your list using the arrow on the left okay that makes sense boom highlight and bull the tile size underline try our

Different colors okay so you can highlight here you can bold italicize underline use your different colors highlight colors okay press tab to add subtasks okay so if we press tab press tab to add subtest okay so that's what it does press shift tab okay that's why I was wondering press shift tab to not like make it not a subtask anymore so that's cool so we got that shift tab to bring it out and tab to add a subtask add due dates

To set reminders using the menu on the right um due date add due date to set a reminder using the menu on the right doesn't seem to be on the right but you can when you add the due date you can see if this is a repeat daily weekly monthly yearly custom or no repeat you can do the start date and the end date and you can do the notification so at the time of event five minutes before five minutes before

And you can add multiple different ones right you can do five minutes before and at the time of the event you can change the time zone if we'd like we can remove it and we can save it um so there is that oh so what I would do if it wasn't showing this already is I could click here and then add due date you can also assign a comment upload file embed timer oh add a timer or add a reaction and

There's the short codes here d a c uh upload from computer Google Drive Dropbox Instagram box timer and reaction so that's cool as you can see it's assigned to myself so let's do here type at to mention people or projects hashtag to do okay so that's pretty simple you just do at and then you can mention either a user or a project it's cool because then I could easily click here see myself or if it was a project I'm assuming you

Could just yeah I'm not going to do that but I could click here and go directly to that project so if you're saying in a project you know complete this project you could you know access it easily click here to see how finished steps look like foreign but there's a video there kicking it up a notch change the text boxes to bullet points by clicking on change format on the left of this task it's this uh change clicking on change format

Wait oh okay wait so um foreign change the bullet points to check boxes change the check boxes to bullet points bullet I think they already are bullet points um so yeah that's what you would do just I don't know why it says to the left um check box so we could have it as a check box if we wanted to and there's you can see here if I go here um there's different types of check boxes if we want a heart

Checkbox a circle a square if we want headings so large heading small heading and then bullet points Circle bullets Triangle Square paragraph number letter add task above add task below add note highlight complete duplicate copy link copy to a workspace or a project move to a workspace over a project sort by completed uncompleted a to z z to a tag mention calendar so add to Google Calendar Yahoo calendar sync with calendars mention tag all right so you can set up new

Tags like you can see the hashtag to do is here I think if you just click or type in hashtags in here like in the the document then the hashtags are going to start applying here so that's kind of cool um complete the task with your first shortcut control enter or command enter so there we go it's completed complete our comment on this task using the menu on the right or Control Plus or command plus so command plus oh it's command

Plus forward slash is that what it is okay why is it zooming in that's annoying um okay well I don't know why it's not working wait okay so Ctrl C foreign how do I um okay well I'm just going to comment there's a comment again um I thought I saw I thought I just saw the comment um foreign maybe it's ad oh yeah add comment comment on this task by using a menu on the right or Control Plus forward slash I

Drag a file in here and it would upload so that's kind of cool I'm not gonna do that uh say hi in the chat to the right of the project click oh where is it there's project history up here it's here this is appearance so we can change the banner change the background add a cover image we can see the cover images up here we can change it to random or a pre-loaded one or we can upload one settings we can

Change the default view to list Board calendar action or mind map or org chart you can do project chart so enabler disable project trial oh chat uh if disabled the chat will not be visible to anyone so I'm going to enable it and then comments enable comments or disable comments if disabled comments will not be visible to anyone so now I enable the chat um and then here you can hide completed complete all full doll search share unpin unstart or star

And pin copy move add to templates version history export print present notifications open in desktop app complete our notifications are here I can share up here and invite to workspace or invite to project um okay we're almost done here embed your favorite YouTube videos with Control Plus or command plus I don't know why that command isn't working for me click on the header of this block and sort it by using sort into three dot menu so we can sort it by

Using Okay so we can sort by A to Z I guess so there we go uh click on the heading of this block click here to see how the finish step should look okay um toggle views on web Mac PC on the top right of this corner of this project so yeah you can do that here think is it here one of the two but yeah here's the views right here um and then embed your favorite YouTube video using command plus

Template so actually like I'm actually kind of excited I'm getting kind of excited with Cascade uh because I was actually looking at this other tool that I may not need now and I don't know because I really like notion obviously um so I'll have to see if this task Aid I don't I don't know if I can use both of them sync like for different things so I'm gonna have to play around with this for a bit but pre-production checklist gaming

Say it's so simple but like in terms of um like the one thing with notion is if you have it doing everything uh then it's like you could have so much stuff you could obviously have a lot of stuff here but it's specific for mainly like tasks but it still has a lot more than other task like stuff it's more of like task and project management so it has more um more a lot more features get things done so GTD education

So a bunch of stuff there project management agile agile project management board agile Sprint planning um so cool stuff there personal weekly habit tracker task tracker daily workflow daily log Journal so like there's a bunch of stuff here I want to play around with oh and then featured so building a second brain b-a-s-b second so that's something I've done in notion so let's go ahead we can you can click on it and see which I should have been doing but and

Then if you want to you can create it foreign I don't know if I'd actually build a second brain in here I mean I guess maybe you could so this is kind of cool on the right here you can see start a call and chat and share files so I could start a call here obviously there's no one to have a call with but here we go this meeting needs to use your microphone and Camera I'm not going to turn on

My camera right now but um there you would have it you can see your name join meeting microphone stop or start camera um set background settings enable pre-meeting screen enable shortcut settings all right so cool stuff here um join meeting and raise our lower hand share screen performance settings so you can change the quality so best for quality or whatever full screen more actions you know a lot of cool stuffs you can see you know I'm just gonna end this now

We can see the history here I can chat in here so this is like really cool it's kind of like um it's actually really cool to be honest so I like that um inbox so what is so it's like The kanban View guys yeah so this is all there's obviously a lot of stuff here I can't go over each and everything I don't want to make this video too too long maybe I'll make more videos on task 8 in the future

If you guys like but I hope this gives you kind of a good idea of this tool we have the list view here boom right we have uh can or board view or kanban view basically right here we have calendar view action foreign like spreadsheet type thing um not necessarily but can you add files here timer this is kind of cool I wonder if you can record um your time I don't know if you can or not mind map right here

Cool org chart interesting definitely not useful in this case I'd assume it looks too too crazy um but we wouldn't even really need an org chart for this let me just check something Google uh taskade Chrome okay I want maybe they do have a Chrome extension um yeah they do so I wonder if um let me see I'm gonna turn Cascade on I wonder if we can record our time tracking uh taskade okay I'm enabling it right now boom there we

Go Cascade so type anything or right click so we can add it to our workspace um settings so I don't think we can do anything like that in here unfortunately yeah it doesn't seem like that so I don't know if you have to type it in manually for the time which I hate doing like I wouldn't get a team member to do that which kind of sucks if they just have that but um we'll have to see I'm gonna download this

For Windows right now I haven't tried out the app yet but I like that they have those apps and they do have a phone app as well that I got um but here would be your starred here's would be what was shared with you and then there's your calendar I'm not going to pull that up right now but they do have a nice two-way calendar integration and that's pretty much it guys so uh settings oh yeah a few things we have

Archives billing security credits Integrations so you can integrate with Google Calendar calendar feed and zapier zapier which allows you to connect with pretty much everything and they have some popular Cascade stuff right here you can add save slack messages to cast data's tasks a bunch of cool stuff here but and you can even integrate I guess with notion so um yeah that's pretty much it for task a guys um it's a pretty cool tool I'm excited to use it I'll probably
