Gpts which have been a massive success and you know samman's been with the company for about you know eight years growing this thing and to hear now that you know there's been a transition in leadership on the official open AI website and you know kind of seeing what they say what he says it's pretty crazy to think about and I could not even imagine what this means and where this is going to mean what this is going to mean for AI

What this is going to mean for open AI um you know all the different competitors in the space but let's kind of go through some of this this is like I said breaking news so I guess in the next few days to you know weeks we'll kind of see more information about this and see how this pans out a bit more but Chief technolog technology officer so the CTO Mera murati appointed interim CEO to lead open AI samman departs from the

Company so the CTO um this woman Meera is now the interim CEO to open Ai and the search process is underway to identify a Perman permanent successor the board of directors of open AI 501 uh C3 that acts as the overall governing body of all openi activities today announces that Sam Alman will depart as CEO and leave the board of directors Mira morat the company's Chief technology officer will serve as the interim CEO effective immediately a member of open ai's leadership

Team for five years Meera this is just them you know bigging her up uh has played a critical role to open ai's uh Evolution and Global AI leadership you know this is definitely going to get a lot of criticism I feel like because Sam was from the outside looking in or just from seeing all the interviews seeing he's been such a a Monumental part of the company uh and growing it to where it's at you know back GT uh one or

Two whatever to where it's at now GP 4 the last year has been in crazy amount of growth for the company so it's really just um when I heard this I was completely shocked I was in the middle of the work session and I just honestly had to get this video out to you guys right away I was actually planning on doing some other videos on gpts and stuff like that but this video is just needs to come out first so

Um understanding she brings okay so it's just just talking about her given her long tenure um all that stuff now Mr alman's departure follows a deliberative review process by the board which concluded that he was not consistently handed in his Communications with the board hindering its abilities to exercise its responsibilities the board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading open AI in a statement the board of directors said open AI was deliberately structured to advance our mission to

Ensure that artificial general intelligence a GI benefits all of humanity the board remains fully committed to serving this Mission we are grateful for Sam's many contributions to founding and growing open AI at the same time we believe new leadership is necessary to move forward as the leadership of the company's research product and safety functions Mira is exceptionally qualified to step into the role of inter term CEO we have the utmost confidence in her and ability to lead open AI during this

Transition period open AI board of directors consists of open open ai's Chief science technolog Ilia uh independent directors Quorum CEO uh cor CEO Adam D'Angelo um technology entrepreneur Tasha and Georgetown Center for security and emerging Technologies Helen toner as a part so this is interesting too because as a part of this transition Greg Brockman will be stepping down as a chairman of the board and will remain uh in his role at the company reporting to um so that's crazy as well

Greg is stepping down I guess and opening ey was founded as a nonprofit 2015 with the core mission of ensuring that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity in 20 2019 openai restructured to ensure that the company could raise capital in pursuit of this Mission while p uh persevering uh the nonprofits Mission governance and oversight the majority of the board is independent and the independent directors do not hold equity in open AI while the company has experienced dramatic growth it remains

Fundamental uh governance uh the fundamental governance responsibility of the board to advance open A's Mission and pres uh preserve the principles of its Charter so yeah like like it says here you know Sam has no equity in the company been here for I guess eight years a decade or so almost and uh really was a Monumental part of its growth we actually have another article over here so samman out at openai not consistently candate with the board can see here uh

In his first public comment since his shocking termination was reported shortly after Sam mman tweeted I loved my time at open AI it was transformative for me personally and hope the world uh Etc let me just if he else about anything no so that looks like we are literally November 14th he's talking about chat GPT plus uh pausing signups because they were getting such a surge after the new gpts and on know one hour ago he literally posted um right here

So uh I loved my time at open AI it was transformative for me personally and I and hopefully the world uh a little bit most of all I loved working with such talented people we'll have more to say about what uh what's next later wow that's insane so um ouch a quite shocking development on Friday afternoon open AI the company behind increas talking about that uh is out at Bose and a board member yeah so he's out at both completely out

Know I kind of thought he was doing I mean obviously I don't know the ins and outs but from the outside looking in it looked like he was doing a a great job right in terms of growing the company and um and whatnot I even kind of just from his interviews I don't know him as a person or anything like this but I kind of gained a bit of a liking to the guy just the way he talked and you know

The whole Deb Day presentation it was um it was kind of you know really awesome in my opinion so this is interesting I don't know what this is going to mean for chat GPD I don't know what this is going to mean for open AI only time will tell and I'm probably will hear a bit more of what's actually happening and kind of see where Sam Alman goes is he going to start his own chat gbt open AI competitor I don't
