Can we trust Sam Alman and open AI or any of the board or Executives at open AI now that's what everyone is asking right now in the AI industry we're going to look at some of the facts here let's dive right into it all right so on May 28th um 2024 so just a couple days ago at the time of recording this open aai board forms Safety and Security committee so this new committee is responsible for making recommendations uh on critical

Safety and Security decisions for open AI for all open AI projects recommendations in 90 days so today the openai board formed a Safety and Security committee led by the directors Brett Taylor chair Adam D'Angelo uh Nicole um Nicole Sam mman CEO and then this committee will be responsible for making recommendations to the full board on critical Safety and Security decisions for open aai projects and operations open AI has recently begun training its next Frontier Model all right so this is something

That they kind of slipped in here all right basically saying they've recently started training their next Frontier Model and we anticipate the results resulting systems to bring us to the next level of capabilities on our path to AG so this is huge they didn't they're not saying whether it's you know uh GPT 5 or whatever they want to name it um you know we kind of know that Sam has mentioned that he doesn't see it being like gbt 5 6 7

8 so we'll see who knows um what what it will be named I don't know if it'll be GPT 5 they do have trademarks for like GPT 6 and seven and whatnot so um we'll see while we are proud to build and release models that are in IND leading both on or on both capabilities and safety we W welcome a robust debate at this uh um we welcome a robust de debate at this important moment a first task of the Safety

And Security committee will be to evalu evaluate and further develop opening eyes processes and safeguards over the next 90 days at the uh conclusion of the 90 days the Safety and Security committee will share the recommendations with full the full board following the full board's review open AI will publicly share an update on adopted recommendations in a manner that is consistent with Safety and Security opening eye uh Technical and policy experts Alex uh Al Alexander M madri head of preparedness L

Lilian Etc all these people um will also be on the committee additionally open AI will retain and consult with other safety security and and Technical experts to support this work including former cyber security officials blah blah blah blah blah right so they put this out um so a few things to note here is one of course A New Frontier Model they're training it apparently Etc so um yeah that's interesting of course and then also two is really just what they're doing

Here and this is um you know they we've been getting a lot of backlash or just a lot of drama going on with an opening eye um for the last like 2 three weeks I mean realistically for the last like four or five months but um it's kind of slowed down after the samman stuff a bit and then it just started again after Ilia resigned Yan leak resigned and um and then yeah a bunch of other stuff like you know him

Saying that the there wasn't there and then also Helen toner few days ago basically saying that Sam mman wasn't like explaining a bit more about as to how Sam mman wasn't consistently candid with the board etc etc um and even saying how he they didn't know when like chat PT was going to be released or all these other things were going to be released so pretty crazy and honestly shocking news from her and I did do a video on it but

If you haven't seen that clip of her doing it I'll insert it um right here just so you're caught up with that for years Sam had made it really difficult for the board to actually do that job by you know withholding information misrepresenting things that were happening at the company um in some cases outright lying to the board um you know at this point everyone always says like what give give me some examples and um I can't share all the examples

But to give a sense of sort of the kind of thing that I'm talking about is things like you know when chat GPT came out November 2022 the board was not informed in advance about that we learned about chat gbt on Twitter um Sam didn't inform the board that he owned the open AI startup fund even though he you know constantly was claiming to be an independent board member with no financial interest in the company um on multiple occasions he gave

Us inaccurate information about the small number of formal safety processes that the company did have in place meaning that it was you know basically impossible for the board to know how well those safety processes were working or what might need to change and then you know a last example that I can share because it's been very widely reported relates to this paper that I wrote um which has been you know I think way overplayed in the press the problem was that

After the paper came out Sam started lying to other board members in order to try and push me off the board um so it was another example that just like really damaged our ability to to trust him and and actually only happened in late October last year when we were already talking pretty seriously about whether we needed to fire him and so you know there's more individual examples and for any individual case Sam could always come up with some kind of

Like innocuous sounding explanation of why it wasn't a big deal or it misinterpreted or whatever but the you know the end effect was that after years of this kind of thing all four of us who fired him came to the conclusion that we just couldn't believe things that Sam was telling us and that's a completely unworkable place to be in as a board especially a board that is supposed to be providing independent oversight over the company not just like you know

Helping the CEO to to raise more money all right and here we have Yan leag who was uh previously at opening ey like I said who resigned and you can see here he actually um said I'm excited to join anthropic AI to continue this super alignment mission my new team will work on scalable oversight weak to strong generalization and automated alignment research if you're interested in joining my DMs are so crazy stuff here uh anthropic has been somewhat more known for

Being a little bit more safety um first all right you know uh Helen toner even wrote an article uh saying this and this was an article brought heavily more to light during the whole Sam Alman firing when um she kind of mentioned how uh company like anthropic is basically doing safety a lot better than open AI Sam mman wasn't too happy with that and uh yeah Yan also tweeted like this is you know he these are his other tweets where he's

Basically saying I resigned and kind of going over everything with open AI um and kind of the his concerns with the safety and you know their allocation of compute uh wasn't enough um that they promised uh for the whole kind of Safety Division and everything like that so really crazy stuff we see gong going to anthropic um and really everyone is just a lot really just honestly losing confidence within open Ai and it's kind of crazy of course they're still at

The Forefront with the strongest cap most capable models but um you know this is the company that's supposed to be building the most important technology in our human existence so is I mean there's already so many different uh you know things boiling up that is making you know everyone just second guess it like hey what is going on here like is this the company that we want um we have open AI having drama issues like this you know we'll get into

More Google stuff in uh future videos but Google obviously had a bunch of issues with like you know their image generation in the past as well as their new AI overviews generating not correct information cuz they're just throwing they built it really quick and or just got it out there really quick and uh people are going on Twitter showing examples of their AI overviews pulling out incorrect information just because it's uh you know it may scrape different data that isn't actually

Accurate in the Google search maybe stuff on Reddit where people are joking about answers or whatnot stuff like that so we have Google doing things like that um obviously we have anthropic which is supposed to I mean apparently be a bit more safety friendly or safety first um you have Elon with xai uh who is trying to grow it strong and build a team apparently you know of Truth for first uh with a truth first approach so let me know in

The comments down below who what company do you think should be at the Forefront of the AI race um who who do you think should be responsible for this huge thing in for Humanity also too so we covered uh you know Microsoft coming out with their PC um their new PCS their AI PCS and you know I would definitely recommend checking out some my other video that I did on that but here's just an article I'm not going to read through

The whole thing but basically saying Microsoft being invested over new recall AI feature that tracks your every move on your PC so you don't know what this actual feature is I explained it in the video and and they in their announcement video they explain it but it's essentially like you say I'm moving my mouse right here and doing all this stuff you know within this video on my PC well recall essentially take a screenshot every single second or whatever and it's

Capturing everything right so if I forgot hey you know what website was I on you know uh like 10 minutes ago or whatever um from now and it was this website right here msn.com or like hey how on that website how many like followers did that that that article have I could just ask my computer and it would be able to pull up the screenshots and pull up all the data it remembers everything essentially so this is data that you know

You can the the llm or the the the AI within your computer and you can ask anything about it so any photos any this any that um so obviously it has its Cent Pros but um you know reason you know it's drawn out a lot of concerns about a uh security and it's actually already being investigated so you can see here uh Microsoft's new AI power Computer History feature recall has been receiving criticism among uh PC users for being very Black

Mirror likee however it's not just critics who are coming after Microsoft over recall the UK's information Commissioners uh office Ico is now investigating the company's new eye feature too Ico is an independent public author Authority that reports to the parliament of the UK in its tasked among other things with promoting and upholding data privacy rights for individuals we expect organizations to be transparent with users about how the data is being used and only process personal data to the extent that it

Is necessary to achieve a specific purpose dassi wrote in a statement published on Wednesday via its website industry must uh consider data protection from the outset and rigorous uh rigorously assess um and mitigate risks to people's rights and freedoms before bringing products to Market we are making inquiries uh and M with Microsoft to understand the safeguards in place to protect user privacy the IC uh o stated conclude statement concluded all right and uh why is recall causing concern so everyone is

Very familiar with web history um and archive showing users its websites all of the popular web browsers like Chrome Etc have this feature Microsoft is taking General IDE and applying it to a new comp set yeah so it's just explaining the recall um concept like we talked about here and this would make sense I mean cuz first of all Microsoft is not a company that is privacy first all right it's really just not they use your data just like a just

Like many many big tech companies Google does the same thing like you do you really think you're data and your your your security is like um you're you know it's it's the most safe you know secure privacy or I say should say privacy like forward company it's not the case um Google's not like this Microsoft something like this really almost any big tech company um if you're someone that's you know in the Privacy space or you know if you're into privacy

Etc there's so many different you know best practices where you should understand that these companies don't have your privacy interest at hand um you know going for uh forward so not a big surprise that especially with a feature like this like giving a big tech company this much power and this much data um and yeah Microsoft wants that data they want that data and I'll even show you something that like is similar right it's somewhat similar and this is the same

Similar data that they would beginning and I'll show you like just proof how bad Microsoft wants this data and I actually did a uh a video uh yesterday on this tool Microsoft Clarity it's a great tool you can use it for your business you can put a pixel on your website and it will track the users um it will track keep maps all right so it actually is like a replacement for a tool like hot jar if you're not familiar hot

Jar it's like a big tool internet marketers e-commerce brands use this tool and use it for years Etc I don't know their what their whole uh what what their revenue is a year or anything this it's a big tool they're doing a lot of uh a lot of money ET like making a lot of money um have a lot a large user base Etc right the software tool price range is 32 or this is uh yearly let's do 40 not 100

230 and even if you make like a custom plan it can get pretty pricey a month it could make it up to like $11,000 a month Etc right so it can even actually be more if I drag this like this yeah it's going to get into where it doesn't show the price but anyways point being Microsoft Clarity is a tool that literally does everything hot jar does maybe if not more I don't know exact the exact breakdown comparison but uh if

We go to their pricing it's literally free forever you enjoy everything there's no cost you'll never run into any traffic limits or be forced to upgrade to a pay version there's no literally no tiers it's just free why is Microsoft doing this and just so you quickly know um I briefly mention it but what does this tool do you put it on the website and it does heat map tracking so if I go to here heat uh heat Maps so understand

Your business when a user goes to your website just like how I'm on this website I've been clicking on these buttons it you with this tool when it's installing your website you can literally watch and see where your traffic is clicking on the buttons how long they're spending on a page it will literally show you a recording of them on the page so like session recordings it will show the user like their location rough location uh if they're actually like still

Like where they're viewing your website from like you can see here he's viewing the different entries of different users users you can literally like download the recordings you can see here the mouse being dragged you can literally see all this data this is like all the most powerful insights as to how users are using your website and like it's screen recording the whole thing right kind of similar to recall just on a website recall is doing it on your whole computer

Forever this is just doing it on your website and this will help boost conversion optim uh conversion rate optimiz ation Etc um and it even has co-pilot within here so you can literally ask co-pilot stuff about Clarity that it oh how how what button did my users typically like uh seem to really convert on or what was the call to action Etc you can ask these type of questions so it's getting all this data and it's trained on the data with

Copilot and you can ask it Etc right so with that being said if I go to pricing and we'll scroll down why is it free our mission at Clarity is make Behavior analytics available to everyone from bloggers to Fortune 500 companies Clarity is built by Microsoft one of the largest Technic uh technology companies in the world Microsoft posses a massive amount of anonymous data around user behavior um processes a massive amount of anonymous data around user Behavior to gain insight and

Improve machine learning models that many uh that power many of our services and products clity is one of the many ways Microsoft gathers this important data and why we've made it available for free all right we'll never share your data with third parties all right so that's basically their explanation and it makes sense right this is very important data very powerful data and data is a huge currency nowadays um data may even be data may even be more uh is becoming

More important than maybe even some way argue than actual currency with you know where AI is going right like data is literally what powers these AI machines these llms money is your currency doesn't obviously money yes you need money to build the infrastructure for them and stuff but data is like a one of the most potent currencies in today's world right so this is why they literally built this tool that multi million or I don't know how much you know hundreds

Of million whatever how much money this company's doing this is like an example of a company that built this tool and is selling it um for a price Microsoft just comes in and gives it to everyone for free because they just want the data the data is uh the data is worth it for them right so with that being said with recall I mean it's a very I mean it's very similar it's like screen recording your whole computer um this is

Powerful data and we can just see right here with this example with Clarity how much um Microsoft is incentivized to want important data like this to train their models Etc so do you want your you know your whole computer to be potentially trained for models or whatever like um where an AI knows everything that you're doing who knows like right Microsoft can say that this data isn't being shared or whatever but we do know uh with many you know hisory like

If we look at the history of big tech companies and data they've been known to not always tell the truth right and that's um an understatement so with that being said I just wanted to kind of break that down all right not too many people know about Clarity and now with this recall thing I kind of saw the connection there but let me know what your thoughts are in the comments Down Below guys also too if you haven't checked out Clarity
