so as most of you know the AI IDE coding

race is currently going on and things

are really starting to heat up wind surf

just came out with Wave 3 cursors

hitting new releases and we even have

awesome vs code extensions like ruk

Cline and Klein that are pushing new

features out consistently I've done many

different videos on cursor wind serve

pythagora rine a bunch of different AI

IDE even op Source ones like Aid and I

love cursor and wind surf as much as the

next AI coder but one of the main things

that a lot of people may not like about

these platforms is that they're not free

right so if you look on wind surf you're

going to pay anywhere from 15 10 to 15

or 60 bucks a month depending on what

plan you're on if we look on cursor

you're going to pay anywhere from $20 a

month to $40 a month all right they both

have free plans but they are very

limited well in today's video we're

going to be looking at a new kid on the

Block this AI IDE is called Trey and

Trey is an Adaptive AI IDE that

transforms how you work collaborating

this currently on Mac and windows it is

a fork of vs code with a beautiful UI

and guess what guys there is no pricing

guys so before we dive into Trey let's

take a quick look at their website so

they have a really nice website here now

they initially launched and they just

had a Mac download but now they have a

windows so uh they are coming out with

the Linux one too but I'm very happy

that they have a Windows now so you can

go ahead watch this demo video check out

files code Etc so we'll take a look at

that as well and then autocomplete which

and like many of you will love you can

get started with it for free so to get

started of course go ahead and download

try once you download tray we're going

to go ahead and open it on our desktop

now I literally am just opening it right

now in front of you guys so let's go

ahead and click on get started Ed now we

can of course select dark mode for our

theme we can select our language and

click continue now you could import

configuration so you could import from

VSS code or from cursor I'm just going

to skip this for now and then add the

commands so start using the command tray

in terminal so install tray command sure

and now boom we're ready to go so please

log into access features now the one

thing I will say is if you are in Canada

it's banned in there at the moment so

you will have to use a VPN which I just

did but anyways now we are good to go so

let's open up this make it a little bit

bigger here all right so let's go over

the interface real quick so first off um

you know it is a really nice interface

it is a vs code for and one thing I will

say is it is very similar to Jet brains

IDE UI if you're familiar with jet

brains it looks like they definitely got

some uh ideas from them but I'm going to

go ahead here and open up a new project

and and also too guys if some of you are

wondering about your privacy and your

terms of service when it comes to using

this tool that is built by bite dance

you know which is the owners of Tik Tok

which you know was apparently going to

get banned just due to privacy and

everything we'll take a look at that in

a little bit so stay tuned for that but

uh let's take a look here so we have our

Explorer we have our search we have our

source control here I really like the UI

now we have web view which is really

cool we'll come to that in just a second

but that's something that I really like

and then debug and then extension store

so we could go to extensions and we'll

have access to all the different

extensions you would get from VSS code

so you can see we have even like Rue

code here you would have all the

different extensions like I said this is

a vs code Fork so now they also have a

documentation section which I'll link

down below so if you want to dive into

any specific features or anything like

that that we go over you can definitely

check this out all right so let's take a

look at some of these AI features so we

mentioned before In Trey we have Builder

mode and chat mode so chat mode is just

your typical chat that you're going to

chat with cursor or wind surf um or

really any AI IDE and Builder mode is

the agent that's actually going to do

multifile editing and a bunch of that

good stuff so let's try chat mode real

quick just to get a feel for it I'm just

going to say write me a snake game in

Python and you'll see here we can add

context so to add context you can click

this button or simply take hashtag and

then you'll see we can um you know

reference the code a file a Works a

folder or our workspace so this is

really cool you can do this and then we

can add images here of course and then

you'll see here too we have our model so

we have claw Sonet 3.5 or GPT 40 so you

can use either one and the beauty of

this is that you can use CLA onun 3.5

one of the best if not the best AI

coding model for free so I think if

you're on a budget or you just you know

don't want to pay for cursor or wind

surf this could be a really good

alternative to get um some really high

quality output with these best top- of

the tier models for free you know even

if you're using Rue code or an open

source AI IDE or coder you're most

likely going to have to pay for API cost

so this is a good alternative let's go

ahead and click Send here you'll see

Trey is thinking so AI is thinking I'll

help you create this code and boom we

got the snake game being created and

you'll see it looks very similar to the

other AI idees just in terms of the UI

we have a code block right here snake

game. py we could copy our code here we

could insert at the cursor um we could

apply to a new file so I like that it

has this like if I click this it's going

to create that file right here for us

which is actually something I don't

think cursor has um you correct me if

I'm wrong they're constantly updating

new features but adding to new file from

here is pretty cool and then apply code

changes in snake game so you could click

that as well as you see it applied those

changes we could just go ahead and click

on reject or accept or control enter or

control backspace let's accept that and

and then it's giving us the instructions

so make sure you have P game installed

if not you know run this command so we

can run the command in our terminal like

so so here you could copy add the

terminal or run all right so we're

running pip install py game now we're

running python snake game. py and boom

here we have our snake game you can see

here it is fully functioning and of

course we're going to do more than just

a snake game I just wanted to quickly

showcase the chat right here so you can

see how it works let's go ahead and use

the Builder because this is what most of

you will be using a lot of the time so

now I'm going to say create a beautiful

nextjs CRM application using App router

walk me through step by step setting it

up and include some cool bells and

whistles like calendar pipeline

management tasks and more now with

Builder mode you can only use CLA Sonic

3.5 but quite frankly I personally would

use that anyways all right so you can

see AI is thinking right here and now

it's going to create our app using

nextjs App router tail one CSS Chad CN

for components and we got our first

Command right here we're going to go

ahead and run this okay we got an error

here so it's giving us a new command I'm

going to run this and we got another

error here so now it gave us a new

command and it seems to be working here

so we're going to go ahead click yes all

right so now we're installing all the

different packages right here all right

so now our nextjs project is installed

all right now it's going to install the

required dependencies including Chad CN

all right so we can see here it's doing

some searching through our different

files right here it's uh creating a new

component right here we're seeing two

files need to be reviewed so these are

the files that it's been creating it's

creating a layout. TSX right now it's

going to continue creating these

different files now you click click

right here to see review and here you'll

get to review it either click accept or

reject so let's click accept we could of

course just wait until it's all done and

then click accept all it's going through

here it created a bunch of different

files now it's saying to run npm runev

let's go ahead and run this all right so

we can see here we got our app started

on Local Host Port 3004 now when you

actually launch it you'll get a

notification here in the bottom right to

say open web view but you can also go

over here and just click on web view

right here all right so I just had a few

typescript errors that I went ahead and

just paste it in here to fix just

installing different dependencies with

Shaden sometimes I find that the AI will

mess up but let's go ahead and check out

our for SL dashboard but I'm actually

just going to go ahead and say make the

dashboard the homepage we're not using

this nextjs default page all right so

now I went ahead and refreshed it and we

can see our dashboard here so we can see

dashboard calendar pipelines tasks

clients so none of those are actually

working now I do like this web view

right here of course if you want to see

it uh on a bigger size screen you can go

ahead your actual browser here we can

see our try CRM so pretty basic right

now um you know some of this text should

I'm going to go ahead and say create the

calendar task pipelines and calendar

page and also make all the text black

when it's on a white background and make

it look more modern all right so we can

see it's creating all the different

pages right here which is nice let's go

ahead and accept this so if we go ahead

to our pipelines page here we can see

our pipelines all right so we can go

ahead here and we can see our calendar

page right here so you can see our

calendar upcoming events um dashboard of

course this is very basic guys like I

would go ahead and improve upon this but

we can see our pipelines here task Etc

all in all guys the flow is pretty good

for this tool um you know I really like

the web viewer that they have as well as

the UI is really nice and clean now

there's definitely a few features that

cursor or wind surf has or other AI

tools have that this one does not and it

is still a really new tool so I'm sure

that they'll probably come out with a

lot more of these features now the one

thing like I said a lot of you guys may

be thinking about since this is a bik

dance company from Tik Tok in China um

what are the privacy or terms are there

any potential concerns I went ahead and

pasted in the terms of service into chat

GPT and basically what it said some of

the main concerns were were Brad and

irrevocable license to your content so

here's the Clause I'm not going to read

it all if you want to pause it you could

read it but basically what this means is

once you upload content you lose control

over it permanently they can use modify

and share it with partners for their own

business purposes even if you delete

your account they still retain rights to

your content and continue using it this

raises issues if you're handling

confidential business data client

information or proprietary code

thirdparty data sharing so your data is

so your data is shared with third party

AI models and external service providers

without explicit control or opt out

options there's no Clarity in which

third parties get access to this or how

they store or process your data and then

no data deletion guarantees and those

are just some of the main ones but I

thought I would give you guys kind of

both sides of the spectrum here I do

think Trey is a great tool and a great

AI tool but I know a lot of you guys may

be wondering about that so depending on

your use case this could be a really

great tool for you especially since it

is 100% free and you can leverage Claude

sonit 3.5 the power of that great AI

coding model without having to break the

bank if you're worried about privacy and

whatnot and all that stuff then it may

not be be the best tool for a long-term

use and you may just want to try it out

and then stick to something like cursor

wind surf but let me know what your
