Socials it's mainly searching for from Reddit post right here if I search like trending AI news on X so that is something that did stand out to me with mini perplex that I'm actually very excited for and then here we also have a couple options we can do grock 2.1 the most intelligent text model or grock 2.0 Vision the most intelligent Vision model okay if you do Vision you can also upload images which definitely could be useful all right so let's

Am quite impressed with with mini perplex so far in terms of the quality and just how it works now if you want to self-host this which you technically may not even need to do since as of now you can actually just use this for free on their uh Cloud hosted version but you have a couple different options the easiest way is to actually just deploy with for cell right here it would be just a couple different clicks you may have to

Add your API Keys pretty straightforward now the second way is giving me a bit of issues I'll let you know what they have in their uh setup here I did get it up hosted before but it was still giving me a bit of issues I'll kind of explain as we go so here for local development you basically just have to sign up for the accounts with the AI providers you want to use whether that's open AI anthropic um oh n anthropic

Are required Tav is required for web search features so you can search up Tav sign up for that once you actually sign up for these I'll show you exactly what ones you want to sign up for you're going to copy this URL you're going to open up your terminal and you're going to run uh get clone and then the repo link right here then you're going to CD change directory into mini perplex and then I like to just open it in

Cursor or vs code so code dot then you're going to run PNP install okay that's going to install the dependencies right here and then you're supposed to just run PMP Dev so you literally just run PMP install PMP Dev before you do that though you're actually going to want to go over to your um environment variables so you're going to see env. example you're going to want to make a copy of that and either change it Tov dolal or EnV and

Then you're going to see anthropic API key tavali API key grock API key open Weather API key e2b uh API key okay so then once I did NP uh PNP run Dev it actually did work this time um sometimes it wasn't working but now it did and now it's still kind of giving me an issue so as you can see it's loaded up here if I do a search for example like new um we're getting an error occur right here so

It's saying we need up stash redus uh rest URL and um variables so here it's saying we're missing a couple API Keys just so you guys know it's saying we're missing X aore API key equals it's also saying we're missing the up stash redus rest URL and the rest token so I'm going to try adding these and see if it works okay so I just added those API keys so I'm going to try this now we got AI news right here

Let's see what we get over here okay so I put those environment variables and I'm not getting an error but it's just not loading so let me know if I'm doing something wrong let me know if you guys figured out how to self Host this personally um just with the local development I'm having some issues I'm sure if you do it on versel it probably won't have as many issues or maybe it's just a bug in some of the recent updates
